ASTAP Help

Post by matthew_carlos »

new to Startools, Astap, heck Astrophotography...

Trying to get Startools cleanest most 'virgin' stacked fits from my OSC 168c. Attachment has settings used in ASTAP stacker. Would appreciate a view to see if I'm doing this correct or need to tick something else.

Thanks.

Note that I left off tickmark to prevent OSC from being converted into colour. I'm assuming based on my neophyte understanding of all of this stuff that StarTools would prefer it be received this way. ASTAP even send me a warning that says "Warning, OSC imagge is stacked as monochrome!Check mark convert OSC to colour". Hopefull I'm corrrect. lemme know if not or anything.

Thank you!

You will want to turn on "convert OSC images to colour". Debayering (or alternatives like Bayer drizzle or super-pixel pooling) is an important part of stacking. It's not something that can be done during post-processing.

Hope this helps!
