I am new to Star Tools and have run into a problem when post processing subs taken with a monochrome camera (ASI1600MM Pro) and H alpha filter of the Rosetta Nebula. The subs where a by-product of an imaging session to sort out a guiding problem. I was able to get 5 subs of 300 seconds each. There are no calibration frames. I stacked using DSS and the settings suggested in the Star Tools User guide. For some reason, no matter what processing I do, or modules used, there are always a mass of colored pixels in the image. This seems odd given it is a monochrome image. I'm pretty sure I am making a fundamental error here and would appreciate any guidance.
Cheers.
Colored Pixels in Monochrome Image?
Re: Colored Pixels in Monochrome Image?
Problem resolved. The error was my fault. I failed to uncheck the "Monochrome 16 bit..." button under "FITS Files" in the "RAW/FITS DDP Settings..." of DSS.
