Decided to take a stab at my composite full moon from November, using ST to see if I could find a bit more definition and depth.
Ran the image through some wavelet sharpening, bumped saturation, and then ran it through Life->Isolate at a very low strength (less than 10%)

*nice*
Decon can also be very useful for lunar images. If you use decon, set 'Image Type' to 'Lunar/Planetary'. This will make sure that headroom is re-allocated for highlights that come into focus, instead of blowing them out.

Re: StarTools - Not just for stars :)
Good tip, thanks! I'll give that a try!
*EDIT*
Doh...it occurs to me after a quick check that Decon is only available on linear data...and this image doesn't exist anywhere is linear data, since all the segments were stretched in RegiStax originally.
Wonder what happens if I lie to ST....

Re: StarTools - Not just for stars :)
Well, the answer is that ST doesn't really seem to "complain" about being lied to...but Decon had no visible effect that i could detect, even at 100% resolution.
I'm not sure if this is because I lied to it, or simply because I didn't know wth I was doing.

Decon should definitely work...

Re: StarTools - Not just for stars :)
I wonder what i did wrong then...I saw NO detectable change to the image at all, even with close inspection at 150% zoom.
The change is obvious even at small resolution...so clearly I'm missing something.
I'll go try again, and document my steps...
