Hi
Opening a fits image:
-rw-r--r-- 1 steve users 108152640 Mar 31 13:21 ngc2238.FTS
and cropping stacking defects produces:
-rw-r--r-- 1 steve users 48730112 Mar 31 13:39 ST10.trk
-rw-r--r-- 1 steve users 268901183 Mar 31 13:37 ST11.trk
-rw-r--r-- 1 steve users 268901183 Mar 31 13:38 ST20.trk
-rw-r--r-- 1 steve users 268901183 Mar 31 13:38 ST21.trk
-rw-r--r-- 1 steve users 268901183 Mar 31 13:38 ST30.trk
-rw-r--r-- 1 steve users 268901183 Mar 31 13:38 ST31.trk
-rw-r--r-- 1 steve users 268901183 Mar 31 13:38 ST40.trk
-rw-r--r-- 1 steve users 268901183 Mar 31 13:38 ST41.trk

I have only around 2Gb free on my / partition (where /tmp is) so StarTools issues a message and exits. I've tried turning off tracking but then i can't stretch the image.

Is it possible to assign the tmp tracking info to say /home where I've loadsa space available?
TIA,
Steve

Hi,

The assumption is that the tmp or temporarily folder always has enough space available (you will find other software making the same assumptions).
Have you tried mounting your tmp folder on a different drive?
