Is this over processed?

Post by almcl »

While I was surprised at the depth of colour, Can't help feeling this may be a bit over done, particularly with the Isolate function in the life module.

6 x 180 second subs, 5 x 240 sec subs, both at ISO 1600. 20 flats, 20 offsets

Any comments or suggestions would be welcome.

It looks very nice Al, but I'm not sure about that milky stuff in and around the nebula. Maybe contrast is the thing here? :confusion-shrug:

that's from the life "isolate" where the nebula was masked. Don't have ST on this computer so not sure of terminology, but 2 things to try
1. Change mask fuzz parameter
2. reduce strength of the effect

can also try isolate with no mask

PS. its only overprocessed if YOU think it is ;)

Thanks both for the thoughts.

I did wonder about the 'red haze'. I can get rid of it although I am still not very good with the mask tool (only discovered the 'undo' button's function a fortnight ago!) but not sure if it's genuine data or an artefact of cloud/light pollution/poor seeing etc.

I'll have another play.
