Using a mono camera with O3 and Ha filter what is the best algorithm to choose in compositing mode ?
Re: compose mode
For HOO narrowband palette using just Ha and Oiii I use the following …….
HOO Bi Color processing with just Ha and Oiii data sets from Mono camera and filters
Select Compose scheme as follows -
L + Synthetic L from RGB, R (GB) (GB) Bi Color
"L + Synthetic L from RGB, R(GB)(GB) (Bi-Color)" creates a synthetic luminance dataset from Luminance, Red, Green and Blue, weighted according to the exposure times provided by the "Total Exposure" sliders. The colour information will consists of red as imported, with an average of green+blue assigned to both the green and blue channels. This mode is suitable for creating bi-colours from, for example, two narrowband filtered datasets.
Load Ha into R ( Sii ) slot
Load Oiii into G (Ha) slot
Load Oiii into B ( Oiii ) slot
Adjust Ha (R) slider to exposure time
Adjust Oiii (G) slider to exposure time
Adjust Oiii ( B ) slider to zero
Then Keep
Linear
Then OK
NB: You may have to experiment with the Ha (R) and Oiii (G) sliders in regards to exposure times
Other folk on the forum may have more suggestions
Also the above works well when you capture emission nebula with obviously dominant Ha and significant Oiii.

NB: As your working with only 2 color channels you can select the Bi Color preset in the Color module or experiment with various mapping options in the Matrix that relate to H and O.

Thanks martin ,if i have say 4hrs ha and 4 hrs o3 do i put 2hrs in the exposure time for Green and Blue channels or 4 hrs ?
Regards Dave
Re: compose mode
Dave,
Insert your data set just as advised above
4hrs into R/ Ha and adjust slider to 14,400 sec
4hrs into G/ Oiii and adjust slider to 14,400 sec
4hrs into B/ Oiii and adjust slider back to zero
As I mentioned you can play around with the sliders a little bit to experiment.

Re: compose mode
Dave,
Below maybe helpful as well in regard to Mono camera data sets and Compose module…….,
Compose Module for Mono Camera Data Sets
Select one of the following Luminance Colour which reflects your camera type and stacked data set -
RGB , RGB Legacy ( for Mono RGB data sets where Luminance is derived from RGB channels and output result will be colour)
RGB Mono ( for Mono RGB data sets where output result will be Mono )
L RGB ( for Mono RGB data sets where output result will be colour )
L + Synthetic L from RGB , RGB ( for Mono data sets where a Synthetic Luminance is derived from RGB channels and added to Luminance channel, output result will be colour )
This is the most commonly used for both Broadband and Narrowband data with Mono cameras and filters where 3 channels are composed.
L + Synthetic L from RGB , Mono ( for Mono data sets where a Synthetic Luminance is derived from RGB channels and added to Luminance channel, output result will be Mono ) Also known as LLRGB
L + Synthetic L from RGB , R ( GB) ( GB ) Bi Colour ( for Mono data sets to create Bi Colour images eg: HOO)
