Aligning stacks or datasets

I am experimenting with the layer module. On page 37 of the manual for v 1,8 i tried to follow the steps to Add Ha to RGB datasets (method2)

So you process each stack (dataset) separatly and bring them together in the layer module. But how do you align them in Startools?

Best to stack using just one reference frame for all data sets. This is relatively easy in DSS but nearly impossible in ASTAP.

If the rotation angle is identical and the stacks are exactly the same size it is possible to import them into the layer module and then align them using the X,Y shift controls, but this is harder.
