IC 1795 in Star Tools and PixInsight

Post by gminder »

Caught a rare near perfect night last night and got about three hours of data for IC 1795 (part of the Heart Nebula, IC 1805). I processed my data in Star Tools and PixInsight. For whatever reason I usually clearly do better in one program or the other, but in this case I am happy with both versions, though I prefer what I got from Star Tools.

Ivo, the color module just gets better and better!

Capture Details:

C8/ Adv VX

Both lovely images Gary! I do definitely prefer the better star colors in the ST image.

I just updated the Denoise module with an improvement to the read noise (background noise) removal algorithm. You may be able to get more from the background now (no guarantees - but I'm keen to see what other people can dig out :) )
