Hi all,
I promise, I will stop spamming Ivo’s fine forum with my images. But for now, I’m still too excited . Astrophotography is an awesome thing, it’s getting better and better every day. (And working with StarTools is getting better every day too!)
Here comes my Ha/OIII shot of the Great Wall
- 200/1000 GSO Newton / SkyWatcher EQ-5
- Baader MPCC
- L-eNhance
- EOS 2000Da, APT
- 50/200 Guide Scope, ASI 120 MC, PHD2
- 21 x 240s @ ISO 1600 (~ 1.5 hours)
- flats, bias
240 seconds is still a bit to little exposure time for this setup, Ha is slightly clipped on the left side.
As for the workflow in ST, there’s nothing special to say. It worked like a charm. I used the HDR module two times with different context sizes in order to work out different scales of this fine structures.
Best regards, Dietmar.

Re: NGC 7000 / The Great Wall
Very cool! The Wall is neat in HOO or SHO.
Another that I haven't done myself - other than a NA+Pelican last year using my 300mm lens.
I may just have to order my OIII filter today. It's the only one my wheel is missing.

Hi Dietmar,
Really cool, that's all I can say! You seem to put your duo NB to good use!
Regards
Stefan

My jaw drops. Very nice!!
Re: NGC 7000 / The Great Wall
Thanks, Mike

Yes, maybe you should do that. This NB processing is such an interesting topic and especially for you there are thousends of possibilies more to do crazy image processing
Best regards, Dietmar.
Re: NGC 7000 / The Great Wall
Thank you very much Stefan. Yes, I am still overwhelmed by the new possibilities with the camera mod and the NB filter. 200 EUR is a lot of money, but I am sure it is worth every cent.
In fact, for this DSO, I was inspired by your great image on AstroBin.

And your SHO-like processing looks great of course
Best regards, Dietmar.

Re: NGC 7000 / The Great Wall
Thanks Dietmar,
Yeah I ordered it up, should get it sometime next week I imagine.
It'll just be easier and perhaps cleaner. I already have the L-eNhance for duoband usage of course and have done plenty of extraction and whatnot. And when I had to do my Cygnus Loop w/o an OIII last month, I just put the L-eNhance on the end of the CC and moved the filter wheel to my green filter, thus giving me a decent semblance of OIII, I think. But the dedicated filter in the wheel will make the process go better.
