Thanks Ivo,
I am not a frequent user of dropbox so may be this link will not work
https://www.dropbox.com/home/Chris
The file is stackall, stacked and debayered in Nebulosiry
Hopefully you will find that it is my processing that is inadequate.
Chris

Thank you Chris, unfortunately that link does indeed not work.
Does this help?

Sorry Ivo,
I am not the owner of that drop box site so I created a we transfer account.
If I have done i correctly the download link is
https://we.tl/t-vRl43MgunU
Should be the stacked debayered file

Re: Problem installing version 1.8
Thanks Chris,that worked!
I just opened it in StarTools, however the stack appears to be already stretched (as well as uncalibrated).
Are you sure you followed the best practices / prerequisites when acquiring, calibrating and stacking your data?

Again sorry Ivo,
That was not the file I intended to send
https://we.tl/t-wKDSbxCCkp
Is the debayered stack

Re: Problem installing version 1.8
Thanks Chris, this stack indeed looks linear, however still does not appear to have been calibrated either. Calibration - particularly with flats is - not really optional, particularly if you are imaging faint objects such as these with low surface brightness.
There are many hot pixels visible, which should not really be happening if this is a stack of 80m worth of data; they should have been stacked out.
How did you stack this? Can you confirm you applied the best practices I linked to before?
It is of course possible to process this, but the severity of the defects will mean having to deviate from any standard workflow quite significantly...

Re: Problem installing version 1.8
Hi Chris,
Hope you don't mind, I took a look at it myself. Always up for a challenge!
Ivo is right, of course. The many dust donuts, little black spots, and the vignetting all ask a lot of Wipe. I believe Mask can go after those hot pixels, though I haven't really tried that myself.
One other concern I had though is your focus. With just the linear stack, I started thinking maybe uncorrected coma. But I have it open now, post second AutoDev and then straight to Color, and even center field of view stars have donut holes in the middle. Finally the bright star on the upper left has split diffraction spikes that could also be indicative of being out-of-focus, unless that is normal for your optics.
Might be something to look into, perhaps try a B-mask and/or periodically check, especially if the temp changes. I'm learning that my Newt requires checking and adjustments, unlike my refractor where I can just park the focus once and leave it all night.
Hope that's useful.
