Just installed Mac OS (BigSur 11.6.2) version. Crashes on start.
v1.7.461 works just fine.

Ideas!?

This is usually caused by mixing different versions of the executable and 'resources' file. Are you sure you extracted the ZIP file in its entirety (and updated any existing files)?

Ivo nailed it. Delete everything inside the distro folder (except a license and/or log file) and afterwards copy & paste the new files into it. (2012 MBA w/ MacOS 10.15.7)

No change. Re-downloaded and ran it straight from the NEW distro folder too. Doesn't work either...?!?!?!?

Thank you for the update.

I've been using version 7 for a while but today, noticed there was a new version, which has now been downloaded.

Now, all that I need. Is some decent data from my Atik 428 CCD and scope
