StarTools GPU version, what Cores is using?

Post by Carles »

Hi Ivo,

I was wondering what sort of Cores is the GPU version of the StarTools using,
as checking the info on StarTools I see this
GPU CORES.jpg
GPU CORES.jpg (19.79 KiB) Viewed 3440 times
So using 40 Core units, but then looking up at my graphic card There's this
shaders RT Nvidia.jpg
shaders RT Nvidia.jpg (67.84 KiB) Viewed 3440 times
Being ;
SH (Shaders or CUDA cores if I'm not wrong ) 5120,
RT (Ray Tracing cores) 40
TC (Texture Cores, I think) 160.

So, is ST 1,8 detecting the Ray Tracing cores to use it when processing? couldn't it take advante of
the CUDA cores instead? or is it a bug ?
my old laptop's card doesn't have ray tracing, so it just showed the shaders (very little number)

Just wondering : )

Regards

Carles.

It's whatever number OpenCL reports back.

What it means is... complicated. :)
