Keyboard numeric entry of all parameters

Maybe I'm missing something, but it looks like the only way to set parameters in most modules is to move sliders. Sometimes I want to directly enter a value from the keyboard. There are multiple situations where this would be useful:

* I want to make a very small change (e.g. 10.00 --> 10.01), and the slider is too clumsy.
* I want to use an exact value that's worked well for that parameter in the past.
* I want to tweak a value, then decide against it and return to the exact value I had before the tweak.

If there's already a way to directly input numbers, then my request is to make the technique more obvious to oblivious users like me
