Possible hotkeys?

I suspect that with this one I'm asking too much. Just might not be worth the effort to implement.

Especially when I am working at repairing stars I find it to be rather tedious to be constantly changing the tool which I am using on the star mask. I have to click through the options to get the right one.

Realistically, I'm using only 3 or 4 of the tools in order to fix the mask the way that I want it to be. Mostly I'll be using two of the tools. If I had hot keys or maybe individual buttons which showed up at the bottom of the screen it would mean fewer clicks/time in order to accomplish my tasks.

The problem that I see is that there is a good chance that the tools I use most are not the tools which others use most. So it would be awesome if the user could program hotkeys or maybe drag 2-3 of the tools to the bottom of the screen in order to more quickly toggle between the options I actually use.

I have a feeling this might mean a pretty significant interface change and I can readily understand it if this is not at all a high priority. But if it could be kept in mind I'd be much obliged.

I understand where you're coming from. I have been thinking about this as well - I need to balance this with 'discovery' though for new users, requiring a longer textual description... Let me think about this one...

Hi Ivo -- I'd love a "Do" hotkey. It's cumbersome and time-consuming to keep going between the controls and sliders at the bottom up to the Do at the top, and makes it difficult to iterate and adjust.

Separate icons and hotkeys would be more ergonomic.
