Just a thought. I've had success using the Synth module for fixing oval stars in my images - that is, just replacing them without vanes, same size and appearance. However the Synth default settings need to be adjusted extensively to do this. Is there a possibility of a switch to select default refractor/camera lens settings - adjustments will still be required, but to a lesser extent, such as aperture and focal length.
I understand the ethics of using synthesised stars, and this needs to be stated in any dialogue assw the image.
Synth switch to default refractor/camera lens settings
Re: Synth switch to default refractor/camera lens settings
Hi,
This is a great idea! In fact, the idea of easy presets should extend to other modules as well.
I've added a refractor and newtonian preset to the PSF generator in the Synth module. You can find the latest download in the usual location.
Expect to find more presets in the different modules in the future!

excellent. - only need to set aperture and focal length. some adjustment is required to the Synth settings to retain the natural appearance of the stars. but they are nice and round - and not out of place.
