Hi Ivo,
In Decon module, when selecting a star outside of preview a warning text appears on screen. However, when selecting a different (valid) star it does not seem to reset the old selection. Also warning text remains. Multiple stars may be selected this way and with each selection, the screen seems to be getting darker. Resetting the selection works well if the warning did not appear (star inside frame).
I'm running ST 1.7.458 on MAC OS Mojave

It seems this is not misbehaving any more at least with 1.7.461.
Now it is behaving as expected, unselecting old star and removing warning text

I could replicate this before in 1.7.458. The steps were:
- Load Decon
- Define Preview area
- Chose "Dynamic Star Sample small"
- Select Star outside the preview area - warning appears
- Select Star inside preview - Warning and red box on old star will remain and new star also will appear with red box

1.8 will have a dedicated sample selection view/interface, as spatially variant deconvolution requires multiple samples of good quality. Work-in-progress interface (very likely to change again);
I bit off a lot (too much?) for 1.8...
