Flashes of text boxes with version 1.7

I'm using version 1.7.421. I'm seeing some strange behavior that I also observed with earlier versions of 1.7. The computer is a 27 inch iMac, running the most recent version of the Catalina OS.

Briefly, I'm seeing momentary flashes of text boxes. For example, in Compose I see two flashes of the text box dealing with "Type of Dataset." I have observed similar flashes of text boxes in Autodev, Decon, Shrink and Life.

I apologize that this is a little vague, but the behavior happens so quickly that it's hard to document. Otherwise, version 1.7.421 is loaded with impressive upgrades that are working well.

This should now be fixed in 1.7.422 (up for download now).
It wasn't so much a bug, it was really a choppy animation of pop-ups disappearing and fading out towards the bottom of the screen.
I've disabled this animation now. Do let me know if this fixes the issue.
