Unable to Get the Funny Face to Work for Star Alignment

Hi, I'm sure this has been talked about somewhere before, but I could not locate it in the Forum.

Right now I am doing my astrophotography by using what I have, which means no plate solving, yet. I understand that by using what I call the "Funny Face" part of BYEOS, you can align your stars with a previous photograph.

Right now I have only managed to drop a photo from a previous session into BYEOS. I've still been unable to figure out how to take a short sub, and overlay it to compare the star alignment. If I could do that, I can manually move my mount or camera angle to match up the stars, so I am not having to crop a lot of the photo away because of misalignment.

I hope someone can provide a tutorial guide (step-by-step) on how this process is accomplished. I am a bit frustrated that I am sometimes losing 25 percent of my photos because I have to crop the edge anomalies. Caley
