Hi everyone
Layers:
I've the HOO in panel 1 and the rgb stars in panel 2.
What settings do I use to place the rgb coloured stars above the HOO stars?
Screen shot attached.
TIA and clear skies,
Steve

One way to achieve this (may not be the 'correct' way) is to set up a star mask on the foreground layer and set layer mode to 'Color of fg', then adjust 'Blend amount' to taste.
Screenshot below of adding RGB stars to a bi-colour of the Eastern Veil (ignore the offsets, my RGB stars didn't line up with the Ha/Oiii composite after cropping and needed adjusting).

Hi,
beside the masking method
@almcl said,
you can also try NBAccent.
in this example I've processed the narrowband file, quickly just to check this as I usually use NBAccent without processing it first,
then load my RGB in Compose and the processed file in NBAccent slot. (guess you should select the third option, from dual-triband)
processed the RGB slightly just to get stars exposed and right colour, then got into NBAccent and tweaking the sliders a bit, depending
on how you've processed that file.

it keeps the star colours, and add the nebulosity of your NarrowBand file.
is worth a try ^^

Carles.

Thanks
@almcl for the 'Color of fg' idea. Even SGL types liked it
@Carles , you set me a challenge: NBAccent or bust. Still trying.
Thanks again and clear skies
