Running Startools 1.7.x on a Ryzen 5 3600, 16 gb ; gtx 1650, SSD +HDD.
Running real smooth and fast.Run the processing from SSD , sata3
Seems that however v 1.7.1 is faster then 1.6 as far as i could see.
IMO you surely don't need a high end machine to run ST , a midrange desktop should do just fine and easily do the task.
Also DSS run real fast, 60 lights, 50 flats, 50 bias and 31 darks took exacltly 6 minutes to produces the final stacked image...
Low-cost GPU solution (current as of late 2020)
Re: Low-cost GPU solution (current as of late 2020)
Too true. I keep a number of older laptops around for testing purposes, and the ones with a discrete GPU really got a new lease of life, when it comes to StarTools. Doing more with less is a strange obsession of mine.IMO you surely don't need a high end machine to run ST , a midrange desktop should do just fine and easily do the task.
