A Veil in the high desert

Post by ancienteyes »

I decided to take a break from imaging at near sea level, so took a road trip to a special dark site at 2000 m.
It's really astonishing what a difference the dry air at this altitude contributes to imaging. Wish I could build an obsy up there!

Image Details:
C-11 EdgeHD/CGEM-DX/Hyperstar/Canon 450D-Baader mod/IDAS-D1/50mm-SSAG
2.2 Hours @ ISO400/Moon 9.9 days (Luna was a bit of a nuisance for the first hour of the session).
Processed with DSS/Star Tools/Photoshop

Hey Ivo...thank you for your kind appraisal.

You asked about my use of PS on this image....
(Please, don't call me a heretic...lol!)

I sometimes find the ST Color Module a bit "uncooperative", so I do a bit of tweaking in PS.
This is necessary only because of my rudimentary skill in using the Color Module. I'm still learning it and it's all up-hill at the moment!

As usual, if you want to throw this old dog a bone in the form of a tip or two, please do so, particularly in regards to the Color Module.

Regards,
