Captured IC2944 last night under a near full moon in Southern Hemisphere skies

Scope 8” f5 GSO newt
Mount EQ6-R pro
Imaging Camera ZWOASI2600MC Gain 0 cooled to -10C
Filter L Extreme
Baader MPCC coma corrector
42 x 3 minute dithered guided subs
40 x Flats
50 x Bias
Goto and tracking EQMOD and Ascom Stellarium
Framed focused and captured with APT
PHD2 Multistar guiding ( 0.50 to 0.60 arc sec total rms )
Stacked in DSS
Processed in Startools V1.7 Composite OSC Bi Color

Some Bi Color versions using the Matrix SHO options

Beautiful!

I quickly ran to Stellarium to find out where this is. Rats! Looks like about 10° into the dirt, at its highest. :doh:

This Nebula is quite large at 40’ x 20’ and probably more suited to a wider field of view refractor , however its still exciting to go deeper with my newt capturing the main body and exposing those Bok globules

I did post some Bi Color versions of the Rosette last week with no comments from folk but it’s still important to display your efforts and improve on the previous attempts

Yeah I went looking for that. I imagine I saw it, but somehow it ended up forgotten.

Very interesting though, as I am currently working Rosette (as you can see) for our CN February beginner's challenge. I will come back to that thread for some comparisons for sure, and see if I am catching and revealing all I can. Though I might need to rotate things to match up. ;)
