m31 widefield

Post by Rkonrad »

This would be my second astrophoto, and the first one taken in a relatively dark site. It's not super but I was pleased of the results considering I really didn't get much light: 300mm lens, f/8, iso 400, 56 min integration time. Stacked with DSS, edited with Startools (90%). I just couldn't get the stars to reduce properly so I went over to Darktable and did a lowpas - overlay to adjust contrast. This is from the same data that I posted to Ivo on the "Image processing trouble" area.

this one is better: https://www.flickr.com/gp/rkonrad/0bi2Ek (I think)

Thanks! The data wasn't great. So many cloudy days means more study of startools and less of hardware setup. Hopefully the two will match soonj!
