Thought I would submit a first image to this Gallery. This image of M-82 with Supernova was created from 39X150 sec. light frames, and 44 Darks, ISO 1600, Canon 60Da, C-8 scope, unguided Orion Atlas mount; stacked in Nebulosity, and processed in StarTools. Frames were taken early on the morning of 2-01-2014. Thanks for looking.

Fantastic image - heaps of detail in M82! Can even see hints the north & south 'tendrils'. Good color balance too.

Wow, Ivo! Thanks! I thought it was pretty good, but its very encouraging to hear that from you. For whatever reason I am not really clear about, there appeared to me to be much less noise in this file than in my M-77 file, and yet I used about the same methodology and camera settings. Perhaps, the transparency was better that night or something. I really don't know. But, I'm beginning to appreciate how much easier it is to work with cleaner RAW files.

Best, Tom
