Walking or Correlated Noise?

Is there anything I can do during image processing to reduce or remove correlated noise?

Definitely!
Dithering is your friend - between each frame, move the image ever so slightly (a spiraling pattern is best) so that pattern noise is distributed over different pixels. Check out PHD for a free automated solution that does this.
