How to Remove Star Trails

I processed the attached image using Star Tools:
M3 5 6 & 10 min frame.jpg
M3 5 6 & 10 min frame.jpg (49.59 KiB) Viewed 3970 times
Obviously, I have some star trails due to tracking errors on one or more of my images...among other things probably, lol.

I was wondering if there was a way to repair them in Star Tools. I tried Repair and Heal, but got my best results with Synth.

The data consists of 12 +/- 5 min frames, 6 +/- 6 min frames, a 10 min frame, and multiple darks, flats, and bias frames. Here goes the fts file from DSS if anybody wants to give it a try.

Just please share your workflow.

Thanks,

Darryl

If some of your images have trails or "double stars" from vibrations, simply don't include them in the stack. It is actually much worse to stack extra exposures if they are poor quality since problems are much easier to fix at the start rather than post-processing.

I came to the same conclusion. I just have to figure which ones they are.

Thanks for the response.
