Re: Help processing first LHaRGB
Going through the data again, I probably need to re-shoot B; way too much sky background relative to other channels in DSS.

Re: Help processing first LHaRGB
Thanks for taking a look at the data. I would definitely like to know what is causing the color gradients and vignetting. I spend so much time trying to get my flats right but there always seems to be a problem. I do have another set of flats I took a few days later (with the train intact) that I ca...

Re: Help processing first LHaRGB
Certainly!
L - 120 min
RGB - 80 min each
Ha - 200 min
I have a feeling I might need to start with gathering more RGB data.

Help processing first LHaRGB
Hi everyone. Giving mono imaging another crack, and last week I was able to get a few nights of what I hope is decent data on the Flame/Horsehead region. Here is a link to the individual channel stacks, L, RGB, and Ha. I'd like to combine L and Ha into a single luminance set, but so far I haven't fo...

Re: Wipe module blowing up color balance
A quick run through DSS with calibration/normalization options disabled certainly made a huge difference in how Wipe affected color balance. That really re-enforces the idea that Startools wants data that hasn't been altered in any way.
Thanks for the tip!

Re: Wipe module blowing up color balance
Thank you Jochen.
I will run the data through APP again without those options enabled. Stacks from DSS do the same thing, though I might also have some neutralization options enabled there too. Thanks for reminding me!

Wipe module blowing up color balance
I typically stack my data in Astro Pixel Processor and use the "remove light pollution" tool before taking it to Startools. This data is usually close to color balanced and gradient-free. When I use the Wipe module, it appears to do a pretty good job with removing any residual light pollution, but i...

Re: Removing/reducing BIG halos in RGB
Thanks a bunch, I'll give that a shot. I reached out to Astronomik about the halos, and got a response indicating that it is a characteristic of the filters I'm using. They said that the Type C2 filters have some overlap between color curves for more accurate planetary colors, which can also result ...

Re: Removing/reducing BIG halos in RGB
These are more than likely secondary reflections. To fix these in post processing tends to be tricky, but not always impossible... Would you be able to upload the dataset? Yeah I figured that was what those were; maybe from the filters? I'll be looking into this some more. I'll upload the data to m...
