Unexpected activation of "Compose" when exiting HDR->Keep in v1.9
Hi Ivo, I'm using the Mac version 1.9 and sometimes when I exit HDR->Keep, I activate the "Compose" module or it skips directly to the selection panel "Type of dataset". In order to get out of the "Type of dataset" selection menu, I had to click on "Linear" and then, of course, ST1.9 forgets that I ...

Re: How to de-ring in v1.9 alpha vs v1.8
Hi Ivo,
Thanks for the log file. I'm learning a lot from you.
As for the lum filter for the ASI2600MC, it supposedly has a UV-IR window already. But I can easily add a UV-IR cut filter to see whether it'll help with the colours.
Thanks again.

Re: How to de-ring in v1.9 alpha vs v1.8
Thank you for uploading that. This dataset is the absolute worst case scenario for SV Decon. The noise correlation is extreme; noise clumps/grain are almost as big as the stars; 2023-05-24_14-34.jpg Did you dither and use bias and/or dark frames? Noise grain should ideally be single pixel in size.....

Re: How to de-ring in v1.9 alpha vs v1.8
Were the same samples used between both versions? It appears the 1.8 deringing is set rather aggressively (possibly indicating an issue with the samples or settings), however the 1.9 version's point lights do not appear to be as well coalesced as the 1.8 version (possibly due to only 10x iterations...

How to de-ring in v1.9 alpha vs v1.8
Hi Ivo, With the new settings in v1.9 alpha deconvolve module, I'm having some problems getting rid of the dark ring around bright stars. Here's the settings: --- Spatially Variant PSF Deconvolution Parameter [PSF Resampling] set to [Intra-Iteration + Centroid Tracking] Parameter [Synthetic PSF Mode...

Re: Mac 1.9.542alpha: Crash when Sharp Module is loaded
Hi Ivo, I just went through my entire workflow with opencl_deviceindex=-1 opencl_platformindex=-1 without using gSwitch and everything worked fine and no crashes. And thanks for letting me know about the quantum efficiency spectrum of the ASI2600MC. I, too, was wondering about whether the 2600MC act...

Re: Mac 1.9.542alpha: Crash when Sharp Module is loaded
Hi Cytan, You are right with regards to the OpenCL device index behaving differently. 1.9 indeed selects a different default device. I will restore the 1.8 behavior, as is probably more "right" more of the time. I the meantime, you should be able to get 1.9 behave like 1.8 by specifying -1 (or alte...

Re: Mac 1.9.542alpha: Crash when Sharp Module is loaded
With regards to SVDecon, I agree my background is really noisy because I only have about 3.5 hours worth of data and there was a problem with my flats. I agree that the noisy data needs binning *however*. star detection for apodization worked fine in 1.8 full resolution, while in 1.9 it fails withou...

Re: Mac 1.9.542alpha: Crash when Sharp Module is loaded
... while in 1.8, ST clearly sees the GPU regardless of the gSwitch setting:
which of course, begs the question why ST 1.9 runs without crashing with gSwitch set to "Discrete Only".
