Re: Rapid close of 1.9.547alpha on new Linux 64

Thanks Mike,

Yeah, that's why I said I was leaning towards OpenCL but I need to know what ST is barfing on so I can chase it.

It's in a Beelink GTR box with an integrated GPU - that said it shows as RADV REMBRANDT with 12 cores, from Linux.

Per amazon "AMD Radeon™ 680M 12core 2400 MHz"

Rapid close of 1.9.547alpha on new Linux 64

I had to rebuild my ten year old Intel i7 core machine over the weekend. New machine is AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX. This machine should be plenty beefy enough (64 GB of Ram, Radeon GPU) but when I open the latest 1.9.547alpha or for that matter the 1.8 stable after I try to open a file Startools instantly c...

Re: StarTools 1.8.512 public alpha/preview 4 now out

Good Job, Ivo!

SVDecon with my problem child M8-Lagoon is much better - can actually use SVPSF.

HDR is very good as well.

Small niggle - HDR module "Gamma Smoothen" could be more fluidly named "Gamma Smooth" (maybe that's just my bastard American)

Thanks,
Jack

Thanks Ivo,

Yeah I may give (operative word is may) the Nvidia GTX 560Ti another go. But it does remind me of yesterday's dental visit.

Re: StarTools 1.8.512 public alpha/preview 4 now out

Thanks Ivo,

Not pulling triggers yet, just got back from the dentist

I do have an older Nvidia card that I couldn't get running in two monitor mode (which I need). So I'm thinking AMD.

Re: StarTools 1.8.512 public alpha/preview 4 now out

I am about to pull the trigger on a moderately priced (for today's bloated prices) used AMD RX 570 as I have been told that AMD drivers are built-ins for linux. I sure hope this is not a waste of $400 US. I just can't redo my complete computing world for Kubuntu - I do everything from banking to ast...

Re: StarTools 1.8.512 public alpha/preview 4 now out

Now that I am NOT using the intel GPU my masks are working but I am also getting wild pixels in my M8 - Lagoon data. I can really ramp them up
by increasing the iterations in SVDecon (10x - default is way too high) 2x I can sneek by with.
