Re: Non-interpolation methods
Thanks Ivo, dcraw -v -r 1 1 1 1 -4 -T -S 32767 -q 0 -k 0 -o 0 *.CR2 seems to be working for me, so I'm just going to stick with that and use the bin module in ST if I need the image reduction. Last question - if preprocessing the light frames with dcraw to remove the white balance, does this need to...

Non-interpolation methods
Hey Ivo, I've been doing some reading on the technical details of DSS while we all eagerly await the stacking module in ST (whenever that may be :D ). I've been experimenting with dcraw to remove the white balance before stacking, using either bi-linear or AHD interpolation. Now after some reading, ...

Re: Temporary AutoDev in Wipe Module
Ah, I see. That makes a lot of sense actually. If you really like what AutoDev does in Wipe, you can use AutoDev as normal and launch Develop (don't select 'redo stretch'!) to do a reverse gamma correct of approx 0.45 (= 1 / 2.2) to achieve the same effect. Time for some experimenting! Thanks Ivo :o...

Temporary AutoDev in Wipe Module
I'm not sure if this is the case with anyone else or if I need to do more experimenting, but does anybody else find that the "Temporary AutoDev" setting in Wipe is giving a better image than what actually comes up when using the AutoDev module after Wipe? I know to tweak the "Fine Detail" and "ROI" ...

Re: Testimonials
Ivo, I posted a topic here last week (http://forum.startools.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=709) with my results using this program for the first time. This is my second processing attempt. I just wanted to say I am absolutely blown away by the ease-of-use of this software. It's intuitive and straight for...

Re: Feedback on First Attempts
Wow, thanks Ivo. That's incredible to hear for a first-timer. Really means a lot! And again, a shout out to Bersonic - great data means smooth sailing for processing :-) I've only ever used the "less is more" setting in the life module, I found it would dim the slightly-too-bright parts of the targe...

Feedback on First Attempts
Hi there Ivo (and all!) While I'm waiting for the skies to clear here, I've been practicing processing in StarTools with other users' data (these in particular generously donated to the /r/astrophotography community data pool by /u/bersonic). Just hoping for some feedback from the community on how t...
