Re: Startools for Planetary processing
Oh that is really interesting, I never thought of trying Startools for planetary. It feels like Registax was still able to pull out a little bit more details and contrast between the bands. But I do prefer the colors Startools came out with! I'll give my own Jupiter and Moon pics a try in ST this we...

Re: stacking
I believe Ivo has already spoken about this in the past.
IIRC it's not that easy and there are other things he wishes to work on within ST before tackling that.

Re: Stacking test
Hey Heno, you can just save to a FITS 16bit file, that's what I save to and it works fine with ST!
I believe you can also change the settings so that the Autosave file is done using the FITS 16bit so you don't have to manually save.
The other options all seem fine as well!

Orion the Hunter wide field
Hi all! After a few months of not being able to go out, I finally took my scope out last night... weather was near perfect. If it wasn't for the wind :( Absolutely impossible to image anything deep, constant and inconsistent wind the whole night. I decided to try something I meant to try for a while...

Prompt when closing Startool
Hi! So this happened to me a couple times already, enough that I think a small feature request was warranted ^^ I have two monitors, right one is usually with Chrome, left one with startools... often when trying to click my left most tab on my right screen I go a tad too far and click on the top rig...

Re: amp glow
It looks to me like you have a lot of artifacts on the edges. What was your process to get there?
You probably want to be doing an AutoDev first, then crop out the artifacts out (those red borders all around) and follow that with the wipe.

Re: New to Astrophotography - Feedback and Advise
Simply shoot two color stacks and stack/process them as you normally would. In DSS or some other stacker you should be able to align the stack to an external reference image (which won't get stacked). This way you should be able to align both stacks. Did not know that! Thanks, I'll double check it ...
