Re: Discussion idea - giving StarTools stdev data from stack
I am having difficulties with the windows file.If I open it it just quick pops up a command prompt window and then closes it again. The basic command prompt version works fine. This is properly just a problem with the user not understanding the input but I would appreciate if someone can clarify it f...

Re: Has ST development stopped?
If you'd ever like to revisit this (just a command line interface will do - I can take care of the rest) I've been thinking we could probably set up some sort of crowd funded incentive for you. Okay, I can safely say I didn't expect that  I would love to work on it more, but the route I was go...

Re: Has ST development stopped?
Beyond that, I've been experimenting with some pretty cool stuff in the pre-processing realm. In particular as a direct result of khyperia's post and as a result of going back to basics personally with a 12" (non GoTo) Dob. This sounds interesting , mhmm! I wish I could have continued with that sta...

Re: Discussion idea - giving StarTools stdev data from stack
IMHO, for the UI bit, try keeping UI and functionality as seperate as possible, so that you can 'skin' the core of your aplication any way you want at a later stage. The actual process should, again IMHO, respond gracefully to aborting *at any time*, output an error code if aborted and, while runni...

Re: Discussion idea - giving StarTools stdev data from stack
Does this help? Woo, yes, all those answers helped a ton. (I did not know that was actually called bilinear interpolation! No idea it was a formal thing :P ) I'm still working on the user interface bit of it, though - specifically, I don't know what type of user interface to create. Right now I've ...

Re: Discussion idea - giving StarTools stdev data from stack
If kyhperiaa keeps up the good work, people's image will significantly improve - virtually without any added fuss or steps! Hmm. If there's that big of a need for it, I think I'll continue working on it. I didn't know DSS had such an issue with putting out the right data - I guess it tries too hard...

Re: Discussion idea - giving StarTools stdev data from stack
thats the raw fits off the camera (QHY8 one shot color) So yes its monochrome at at that point.that is fed into DSS along with all the others and a master flat and a master bias. I can demosaic and send the color version if you want. Che Okay, took me a bit to find the setting in DSS that allows yo...

Re: Discussion idea - giving StarTools stdev data from stack
Although, I'm starting to think I should just go the "use DSS's intermediate files" route instead, since DSS seems to have figured everything out and has all the features in it, like supporting bayer filters, calibration, it has a nice GUI, etc., something that's going to take a long time for me to...

Re: Discussion idea - giving StarTools stdev data from stack
OK Success, sort of ;) Below is a link to the stacked image. Pattern visible in image. No color(QHY8 one shot color camera) Hot pixels visible. I assume there is currently no provision to remove these. Other than that, It looks like it stacked well. Why no color? https://www.dropbox.com/s/6mf8lccp9...

Re: Discussion idea - giving StarTools stdev data from stack
OK getting closer!!I get the following Loading/registering reference Images\*.fits Exception! FITS file library error: code 104 does that have something to do with the cfitsio file? it is in the same folder as AstropressPlus Che Okay, no, the problem is that the file pattern failed. That's the "Ima...
