Re: Can masked stretch be done in ST?
I've never been able to successfully remove stars from ST-processed images. Something in autodev and/or filmdev and/or wipe and/or color modules breaks them for Starnet++. The results come out looking really poor, with tons of artifacts. Hi, It absolutely leaves artifacts sometimes, mostly with rea...

Re: Can masked stretch be done in ST?
I processed(a bit fast maybe :) ) the only data I had on the subject to try to help with the problem OP had. Thanks. How fast was "fast"? If it isn't too long, could you do my data, in the first post? Hi! I am sorry, I am less than useless at processing HOO-palettes from OSC-data. :D What I was sug...

Re: Can masked stretch be done in ST?
That's not a solely ST-processed image, correct? Detail is quite good, but the stars (that haven't gone missing?) are a little burnt out (swallowing nearby stars) and "stringy", while the Ha appears rather oversaturated on my calibrated screens. Are you able to get something like this in StarTools ...

Re: Can masked stretch be done in ST?
This just dropped. Masked stretch in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QS2Pyhf7as It looks effortless. Also. I think that using green/blue channels on their own to enhance the blue color naturally in the final image introduces a ton of noise. Because those channels are quite a bit noisy on th...

Re: Can masked stretch be done in ST?
Well, I'll let Ivo do the heavy lifting here... :D But I will say, even if I am not a NASA scientist doing science-y things (though I often look stuff up), I do expect my AP images to be considered photography - beautiful because of its nature, not because I photoshopped/deep-faked it. Some touch-u...

Re: Can masked stretch be done in ST?
I am sorry, but you have that backwards. "Ha "contamination" in the aggregate O-III signal" is "The response in the blue + green channel @656" not "The response of the blue + green channels @ 500nm." I don't follow... The response of the blue + green channels @ 500nm (this is the O-III line) is (0....

Re: Can masked stretch be done in ST?
I don't believe that this is strictly true. My camera, ASI533MC Pro for example, is sensitive to Ha signal in its green/blue pixels. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1594/4815/files/ZWO_ASI533_Wavelength_Sensitivity_1024x1024.jpg?v=1574443973 So even if L-Extreme filter was used, the O3 signal in ...

Re: Can masked stretch be done in ST?
I read some threads here on making fake HOO pictures from OSC data taken with dual narrowband filters. There is (usually) nothing fake about them! When shooting with, for example, an Optolong L-Extreme with an OSC or DSLR, the result is true Ha and true O-III neatly separated in red(Ha), mostly gre...

Re: compose module
Hi. Two questions: 1) What do you mean exactly by "full coloring from all channels?" How is such data going to be different from loading just a single Red channel? Also, there's no "0" setting - it says "not set" in the stable version. Is this a feature of the beta version? 2) Are exposure settings...
