I have been getting back into imaging after a long illness, I have noticed a lot of buzz about Graxpert. What are the thoughts on using it with StarTools. Aer there any pitfalls, advantages, disadvantages.
Cheers

Re: NGC1499 California Nebula
Cool. Kind of tiny though. :D Is this one of the HSO maps like the filename says? That's a really busy star field around that, huh? I will try to make it bigger. I can't find the log with the details on it, might have overwritten it by accident. I like the star fields like this, I haven't quite wor...

Re: M42 - the Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Autofocus is one thing I can't do without, mind you my eyesight is poor, not great with specs either. I use the L2 which has been good for me in Bortle 3/4 skies. I think the Nebula is good, I would like to see more of the dust that virtually surrounds it, the sky seems a bit too black to me. Part o...

HDR 'Do' button
When I use HDR it defaults to medium, I use high. Could a 'Do' button be put in place to enable a choice before the system starts its calculations?

Re: Bubble Nebula NGC7635.
Mike Thanks for that. I tend to err on the more muted side for colours. The acquiistion was RASA8 ZWO183MC and L2 Astronomik lum filter. https://www.astrobin.com/u2s5p7/B/ for full resolution version. Spec for PC is Ryzen 9 5950x, nvidia 4070i graphics and 128gb of RAM. Should keep me going for a lo...

Bubble Nebula NGC7635.
This is a re-process after acquiring a much more powerful computer and 4K screen. I was able to use the higher quality settings without having crashes or making (and) eating my lunch whilst waiting for some parts of the process to complete. I Find using -RGB Ratio, CIELab Luminance Retention- gives ...

Re: Two colour variations of NGC6888
Neat! Make 'em bigger, though! Should be able to retain modest resolution and export to about 500kb size or so. What were the alterations in Gimp? Selective mask? I see the surrounding Ha has been changed to deep red, but the Crescent itself seems to be retaining the H(H+O) for that emis...

Two colour variations of NGC6888
Attached are two different colour versions of the same image. The brown colour is my original version using the H(H+O)O preset. The other, redder version has been adjusted using gimp. I am interested to hear what people think. particularly from Ivo and the way colour is handled by other programs com...
