Crash
ST latest (1.6.389beta) just crashed on me after spending a long time spinning on CPU in the life module. Has happened a couple of times now in the same module, so I figured I'd post the details here in case there's anything obvious. Here is the log of what I was doing: -----------------------------...

Re: Which stacker?
I had heard of Siril but when I tried it out I couldn’t get it working; from what I remember most of the help at the time was in French and I couldn’t work it out! A tutorial would be most welcome

Re: Which stacker?
Indeed, APP is first on my list to try out I think. I'm avoiding PI because the price is too high for me at this time (I think it's unfair for me to do a 'trial' of something that I am sure I won't buy); I'm saving up for a camera with set point cooling, which has to be my first priority, but maybe ...

Re: Which stacker?
Just wondering; what do you mean by "more refined"? What are some features you are after? DSS only ever really works for me with median for everything. Even then, one bad frame can ruin a stack, and it really isn’t helpful with deselecting frames or looking through them to find bad ones. It seems t...

Which stacker?
So I am looking for a new stacking program. I get along well with DSS when it works and ASTAP, but I want something g more refined. My current plan is to get a trial of AstroPixelProcessor, on the advice of a friend. Any others I really should try? What do people recommend?

Ohhh! I see, you mean using time travel. Ok that makes sense
This bit was interesting:
This bit was interesting:
How would you get wipe to remove them? The masked out artifacts will no longer cause Wipe to locally back off (of course it doesn't remove them, which is also an option).

I'm not sure that I follow...admin wrote:Hmmm... Is there anything that prevents you from simply creating a mask for the O-III data beforehand, and importing that into Wipe?

Re: Dealing with Dew
Ok, so I tried this this morning, and I am confused. I do this: confused.jpg I keep the result (Linear, was not bayered), and then autodev, which gives me a black and white image (without the dew, yay, so clearly only the Ha is being used for the Lum channel, as promised). I then crop out stacking a...

Re: Dealing with Dew
You know, after parsing that response a few times, I think for the first time I really understand the difference between Luminance and Chrominance in an image. Thank you, that makes sense! I will give it a go (although I'm having different issues with the Sii *sigh* so I might end up doing HOO).
